How it works
For any ring that you would like re-sized, you can bring it into our Stamford store or post it to us.
If you know the required size, then we can re-size this to your exact specification. If you don't, we can help measure you up to make sure it will fit just right.
Depending on the thickness of the band, we may need to advise accordingly.
We will then send your ring to our expert goldsmith and can give you an estimate on price and timescale. Ring re-sizing can take up to 5 weeks depending on the amount and complexity of the work required, but we will keep you updated along the way with how it's is going.
Ring resizing is a process of adjusting the diameter of a ring by either adding or removing a small piece of metal from the band. The ring is then soldered back together and polished to restore its original appearance. Sometimes the ring can be stretched if it's to be made larger by just a small amount.
What does it cost?
The cost of ring resizing will depend on several factors. Please get in touch for an estimate or we can give you an exact quote once our goldsmith takes a look at it.
The price can vary on the following factors:
The weight and thickness of the ring.
The heavier or thicker the ring, the more metal is needed to resize it.
The metal of the ring.
Different metals have different prices and properties. For example, gold and platinum are more expensive than silver.
The number of sizes needed to be changed.
The more sizes the ring needs to be adjusted, the more metal is needed and the more work is involved.
The style of the ring.
Some rings have intricate designs, gemstones, or engraving that may affect the resizing process. For example, some gemstones may need to be removed and reset, or some engraving may need to be redone.
